The Aboriginal Housing Society of Prince George (AHSPG) provides safe, healthy and

Reporting to the Executive Director and supervised by the lead Residential Tenancy Officer (RTO),
the RTO coordinates tenancy operations for the Society. The RTO is responsible for tenant
relations and administering all aspects of residential tenancy services for affordable and
subsidized rental properties within an assigned portfolio. Functions include all tenancy relations
including tenancy administration, inspections, and liaising with maintenance and support staff as
well as community partners. The RTO works within a collaborative staff team to provide an
exceptional seamless service to our tenants and community stakeholders.
You are experienced in property management or a transferable-skill area and willing and able to
learn. You are a continuous learner, organized, career-oriented, a self-starter looking to advance
your career in the non-profit sector. You have a desire to help people in your community. You
must have a strong character, be culturally aware, respectful, knowledgeable, listen, and able to
assert and carry out tenancy services, while working within and mentoring necessary protocols.

1. Reviews tenancy applications and coordinates tenant selection procedure.
2. Coordinates rent setting (affordable units), conducts income verification’s and calculations of
rents, and enters tenancy information into system.
3. Conducts showings, move in and move out procedures.
4. Administers tenancy agreements and all related individual and building notices per policy.
5. Facilitates monthly rent collection and arrears procedures.
6. Conducts routine property inspections for damage, maintenance and safety standards.
7. Works closely with administrative staff with respect to system data entry, filing and

10. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations.
11. Provides additional assistance to tenant households as needed in coordination with support

- Relevant education or training certification, two-years experience in a similar position, or equivalent combination of education and experience,
- Excellent verbal and written communication and conflict resolution skills;
- Attention to detail and numeracy skills,
- Ability to deal with the public and to maintain courteous, professional conduct with the public, employees, and volunteers,
- Experience with tenancy arbitration or other dispute resolution mechanisms,
- Must have strong computer skills and experience, M/S Office and management information systems experience and aptitude essential,
- Experience using various office equipment,
- Must be bondable – a Criminal Record check, confidentiality and conflict of interest declarations,
- High level of professionalism and positive attitude, as agent of the Society are essential,
