Notice of Motion      

There was a formal notice of motion  voted upon by the membership of the Prince George Metis Housing Society at the Annual General Meeting (Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 6 PM – 1224 Houston Lane) in Prince George, B.C.

 It was proposed: that the name of the “Prince George Metis Housing Society” be changed to “Aboriginal Housing Society of Prince George” as recommended at a duly convened meeting of the Board of Directors on September 15, 2015.

 The rationale is that the housing society membership and housing provided is open to all Aboriginal people. The existing name causes confusion with respect to the inclusive intent of the housing society to prospective members, tenants, stakeholders, funders, and other potential partners.
